From Portland, Oregon, Samantha
Jazmin Haren wrote,
"This scholarship will help me pay for my studies at John
Paul the Great Catholic University, a college that shares my
philosophy of 'Impacting the
Culture for Christ.'" Located in San Diego, John Paul is a
residential Roman Catholic university focused on business,
technology and media. Through her studies in Computer
Animation, Samantha say she "...will be given the
opportunity to put my artistic talents to use in creating
media that sends the messages people need to hear." Samantha
is the daughter of Kenneth Clair Haren and Nancy Elizabeth
(Durand) Haren. |

Alexandra Leigh Durand plans
to realize her life-long dream to become a marine biologist
by completing her Associate of Arts requirements in Inver
Hills Community College prior to attending Winona State
University in Minnesota for a degree in biology. Then, says
Alexandra, it's on to a Master's degree in Marine Biology.
With a current grade point average of 3.71, we know she can
make her dream come true. Alexandra's parents are Melissa
and Brian Richards of Egan, Minnesota. |

Anna Rose Miller is
now in her second year in the Nursing program. Anna made the
Dean's List in her first semester at UW-Madison - quite an
accomplishment! After completing her four-year nursing
degree, Anna plans to attend graduate school to become a
midwife. On her scholarship application, Anna added: "During
my first seven months at school, I have been very active in
the Cru Organization...a Christian organization helping
college students continue the path of Chrisianity." It is
also Anna's goal to spend time studying abroad in a
Spanish-speaking country "where I can learn first-hand the
intricacies with both the language and culture." Anna is the
daughter of Mike and Michelle (Durand) Mill of Eau Claire,
Wisconsin. |

Hannah M. Morton of
Baldwin, Wisconsin is at the University of Wisconsin - Eau
Claire in the first semester of her studies towards a major
in psychology and a minor in music. Her long-term goal is to
continue on to medical school for a degree in psychiatry.
Hanna has been to Peru and Europe on mission trips, and
works with her family's business to provide therapeutic
riding for special needs children. Her experience with
disadvantaged and special needs children abroad and at home
"ignited a passion" in Hannah. "Throughout my life, I have
come to realize that music is one of the most therapeutic
tools, and I want to use music in my practice to help
children overcome depression." Hanna's parents are Tom and
Cheri Morton-McCorkle. |

Hannah E Stellrecht of
Sarona, Wisconsin will also pursue her goal to "work with
animals for a living...I have always had a very strong
interest and aptitude in the field of sciences, especially
animal life sciences. My career plans are to attend the
UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences...for a
Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences. From there I plan to
go to veterinary school to receive a Master's degree, DVM,
or Ph.D. " Hannah is the daughter of Jeff and Nancy
Stellrecht and the granddaughter of Elsie (Durand)
Stellrecht. |
