Kaitlin plans to
continue her studies at Northwestern College in St. Paul,
where she will enter her sophomore year. Majoring in
psychology and learning American Sign Language, Kaitlin
hopes to have a career as an elementary school counselor
or sign language interpreter in “an underprivileged
neighborhood.”
Kaitlin is the daughter of Larry
and Linda Schoenhals.

Andrew (Drew) will
begin his junior year at the University of
Minnesota-Duluth whre he is studying mechanical
engineering. Drew says has “always wanted to be a
mechanical engineer” and hopes to “go on to graduate
school and get my Master’s degree,” after that
“pursue automotive engineering.”
Drew was a rider in the 2005
JohnnyRide on the Gandy Dancer Trail in Wisconsin. He is
the son of Terry and Jeanette Cureton of Plymouth.

Timothy (Tim) Utecht
is the first person to receive a second John Adelard
Durand scholarship award. Tim is entering his senior year
in the Pre-professional biology program. Tim also attends
Northwestern College in St. Paul.
In the past year Tim has mentored
high school students “to encourage their interest in
science,” and is a volunteer judge at an annual
elementary school science fair. He intends to continue his
studies as a graduate student in molecular biology and
hopes to have a career in which he will be “involved in
pioneering biomedical research.”
Tim is the son of Brian and
Sharon Utecht of Stillwater, Minnesota. |
